About
Two backgrounds built for this problem.
GS Partners is built on two complementary backgrounds, commercial diligence and financial rigor, brought to a different kind of question: not whether a deal is worth doing, but where a business stands against the leaders in its category.
Origin
Where the idea came from
The idea started at a conversation about vetting a group investment the way a private equity fund would, at a fraction of the scale. We realised the same diligence discipline applies just as well to a question most founders never get answered properly: where, precisely, is a competitor beating you, and what would it take to close it.
